Although many Muslim countries are still being ruled by kings or authoritarian rulers, some Muslim countries are adopting a mainly western style of democracy. In another subset are some Muslim countries who claim to have established an Islamic form of democracy. What form of governance does Islam advise its followers to establish in their societies?
There is increasing debate about the validity of western style democracy under Islamic premises. Many Muslims are attempting to prove that democracy complies with Islamic principles. In doing so, they presume that democracy is the ideal form of governance. Is it so or would Islamic governance is different to current form of democracy, which is more just and more beneficial to its subjects.
This research paper will formulate a form of governance which complies with Islamic principles and provide justice, equality and peace to all subjects Muslims or non-Muslims.
